An enlightening and impactful session on Animal Welfare was organized at All Saints’ Church Sr. Sec. School on 26th April 2025 for students of Classes 4 to 8. The session was conducted by the esteemed NGO, Maitri Bhavana Foundation, with the objective of fostering empathy, responsibility, and awareness about animal rights and conservation among young learners.

The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the resource persons — Mr. Rajnish Das, Ms. Diksha Gupta, and Ms. Bhavna Jacob — by our school Principal, who underscored the significance of compassion towards all living beings.

The representatives from Maitri Bhavana Foundation delivered an engaging session using interactive presentations that sensitively addressed issues such as the plight of stray animals, endangered species, and the importance of animal welfare. The students gained valuable insights on several key topics, including:

The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare

Proper care for pets and stray animals

The significance of adopting animals rather than buying them

An overview of animal protection laws in India

Simple and practical ways to contribute to animal welfare in everyday life

An interactive Q&A session followed, where students actively participated by asking thoughtful questions and sharing their personal experiences with animals. The NGO team also distributed informative pamphlets and badges advocating for animal rights.

The representatives appreciated the enthusiasm and curiosity of our students and expressed their willingness to return for future in-depth workshops.

Overall, the session was highly informative, inspiring, and thought-provoking. It successfully instilled a sense of compassion and responsibility towards animals. The school administration extended heartfelt gratitude to Maitri Bhavana Foundation for their invaluable contribution and meaningful engagement with our students.
