A Brief History Of All Saints’ Church, Jaipur

In 1875, the Jaipur Darbar gave a site of about 17 Bighas of land and a grant of Rs. 3000 towards the building fund of the Church here. The foundation stone was laid during the Episcopate of Bishop Milman, Metropolitan of India. The Church was designed and completed by Colonel Sir Swinton Jacob K.C.I.E., C.V.O. who was the Superintending Engineer, Jaipur state from 1867 to 1902. The building was first opened for Divine Service on Christmas Day in 1876 and was consecrated on 4th August 1878 by the Most Rev. Dr. E.R. Johnson, Bishop of Calcutta and was named, “All Saints”.

About the School

Initially, when the church established ‘All Saints’ Church School’ in 1969 Mrs. Dulcie Singha, a loving dedicated zealous social worker, and an ever faithful member of this church, got the programme going in one room, with one teacher and one pupil.

The teacher, who later retired as the Headmistress, was Mrs. Sybil Malvea and the pupil was Ms. Mercy John.

Today the school is upgraded to 10+2, Sr. Sec. Level with a dedicated teaching staff to Trained teachers on roll, with Mrs. Shabnam Haque as the Principal.

Our vision is to strengthen our approach towards our Mission and create an exemplary institution highly regarded for academic excellence and holistic development. In this context, we are planning to start Skill Development Classes for the students which will contribute in building up their personalities.
